Shipping & Packing

Every piece leaves the studio wrapped with the same care that went into making it. Roland personally oversees the packing of each work.

The Process

Packed by the Artist

Roland has developed a multi-layer packing system refined over two decades of shipping fragile ceramics across North America and internationally. No piece leaves the studio until he is satisfied it will arrive exactly as it left.

01

Initial Wrap

Each piece is first wrapped in acid-free tissue paper, then a full layer of museum-grade foam sheeting conforms to every curve and protrusion.

02

Bubble Cushion

A double layer of large-cell bubble wrap is applied and secured with archival tape. Lids and handles receive individual wrapping before the vessel is wrapped as a whole.

03

Custom Box

The wrapped piece is placed in a custom-cut foam cradle inside a double-walled corrugated box. No movement is possible inside the box — the foam is cut to the exact dimensions of the wrapped piece.

04

Outer Crate

For works over $5,000 or particularly fragile forms, the inner box is placed inside a wooden outer crate with additional foam padding on all six sides.

05

Documentation

A certificate of authenticity, care instructions, and a personal note from Roland are included with every shipment.
